Hens in the garden
Breakfast is served in the dining room, which has views over the gardens, fields and sea, at any reasonable time to suit our guests. We aim to use as many locally produced ingredients as we can. Where possible we use fruit, herbs and vegetables from our garden and eggs from our hens. We make our own bread, preserves and chutneys. Local suppliers provide high quality meat, seafood, oatmeal and honey.
Our breakfast menu changes regularly but always includes porridge, a full Scottish breakfast and home baking. Specials may include locally smoked haddock with poached eggs, locally smoked salmon with scrambled eggs or blueberry drop scones with banana and maple syrup.
If you have any special dietary requirements we will always try to cater for them. Please let us know when making your booking.
Home baking is a speciality and when you arrive you will be offered tea and baking served in the sitting room. Packed lunches are available on request and again we try to use local ingredients where possible.

Both Brora and Helmsdale offer a variety of places to eat in the evening, from fish and chips to fine dining; see the links below. If you are cycling or you plan to enjoy your meal with a drink, we are happy to help arrange transport.

Eating in
Sometimes setting out again in the evening in search of a meal might not be what you wish to do. On request we can provide a light supper. We would ask that you book this and let us know what you would like at least 48 hours in advance as we buy the ingredients to order.
We can offer:
Local smoked salmon platter - £9.00 per person. Locally smoked salmon, home baked bread, butter, salad leaves and lemon.
Local cheese platter - £9.00 per person. Three local cheeses, oatcakes, butter, home made chutney and fruit.
Game paté platter - £9.00 per person. A pot of game paté, home baked bread, butter, home made chutney and salad.
Home made soup with sandwiches - £9.00 per person. A bowl of home made soup (usually a vegetable soup made with whatever is in season in the garden), served with home-made rolls filled with your choice of: local cheddar and chutney or ham and salad.
Soup (home made as above) to go with one of the platters - £4 per person.
We do not have an alcohol license, but please bring your own bottle if you wish.
